Opening Ceremony: Calling to the Sacred Directions
Limited Capacity seats available

Calling to the Four Directions, Father Sky, Mother Earth, is a cross cultural invocation common to Native American, Celtic and many First Nation cultures. When we stand and face each Direction the Helping Spirits of that Direction comes to meet us half way. In other words what we call to is also calling us. In this way we become the center, and most movingly, our hearts are the center of all Creation. The Opening Ceremony is an opportunity to bring us all together and unite our intentions for both self and community healing.

Qigong for Heart Healing
Limited Capacity filling up

Qigong has been called the Grandparent of Tai Chi. In other words, Qigong is the root source of many healing practices. Anyone in any state of health can practice Qigong. It is simply getting in touch with the energy we share with all life in the Universe. The word “universe” means ‘one song’ and this practice brings us into harmony with flow of the rivers, the beat of bird wings, the essence of the flowers and all life. The particular form Nadiya teaches is for healing the heart, which in turn heals our whole system. Nadiya is certified to teach Qigong by Masters Liu Dong and Liu He, the grandchildren of the physician of the Last Emperor of China. www.linggui.org The Qigong form will end with a Spirit Animal Meditation.

Mike & Ruthy
Americana stand-outs Mike + Ruthy have assembled a new band and, as was the case with their last one, The Mammals, fans and critics alike are showing a lot of love. Their debut album, Bright as You Can, was released in June 2015 and top critics had this to say: "One of the year's standout Americana albums" (Boston Globe), "In the vanguard of today's vibrant folk revival" (Pop Matters), "honoring the great musical traditions of the past while at the same time welcoming, with open arms, the future of what music can be” (Folk Alley), and much, much more.
They play with jubilation--as exciting and powerful as any quintet out there, mixing up fiddle and banjo with drums, bass, pedal steel and organ.Their concerts dance from Americana ho-downs to sassy blues, Motown soul, old-timey harmonies, rock-n-roll energy and infectious, inspired songwriting.

Understanding your Bandhas
Limited Capacity seats available

Seldom taught in modern yoga classes bandhas have very practical applications. When you find them you'll understand why they are so important for the physical and energetic body. Bandhas create inward stability keeping your spine extended and your thoracic cavity open so that you can breath deeply and move safely within postures.

This workshop will logically breakdown their importance and show you how to find the powerful internal locks in standing postures, balance postures, seated postures, twists, backbends and inversions. Activating your bandhas consistently in your practice will help you achieve new positions and transform the practice to an internal one - consistent single pointed concentration, steady and long breath, and a calm, clear mind. The space created by proper bandha engagement helps you to regulate and control all your internal systems, hormonal, metabolic, digestive, etc

Rumi's Lessons In Love: A Vinyasa
Limited Capacity seats available

Many people have heard of the great Persian mystic poet, Rumi, but few know the story behind his poems. In this workshop you'll learn all about Rumi's relationship with his beloved friend Shams of Tabriz, and how that relationship broke him and liberated him at the same time. Poetry woven into asana will give us insight into both his heart and our own hearts, because Rumi's story is our story. It's a tale of love, loss, emptiness and what fills that emptiness. We will dance on our mats like the whirling dervishes of ancient Persia, encountering some arm balances and backbendsalong the way, and landing in the sweetest savasana. All levels.

The Primate Fiasco
To a deaf person, they look like a New Orleans street band. To a blind person, they sound like a rave DJ mashing-up house beats with 60′s folk lyrics. To the police, it’s a busy day on the sidewalk. Primate Fiasco started as a street band, bringing a high energy dance party to places you least expect. With accordion, sousaphone (tuba), tenor banjo, percussion, and vocals, they don’t need a stage, electricity, or permission. But when plugged in on stage, they bring just as much heat as any other electronic act. On top of somehow being acoustic EDM (ADM?) , the songs are well crafted and the lyrics are profoundly unique. Most importantly, this is fun. People smile from the first beat to the last smoldering ash of what was previously a dance floor. Following a Grammy-nominated kids album, several conquered jam and electronica fests, and stolen hearts at prestigious folk festivals, the Primate Fiasco audience demographic is as diverse as a New York City street. No one is safe from the Fiasco. You will smile.

In this increasingly virtual world of ours, what makes music authentic? For some, songs are no more than tiny sentimental decompressions. But others treat music as an extension of their roots, a mirror of their travels and relationships, and a testament to both their craft and passion.

The Thieves find themselves taking the very idea of “roots” and creating ways to make its associated sound progress, while making its encompassing spirit glow. Stylistically, the trio finds a captivating mélange of acoustic styles, blending folk conventions with modern hymnals, delta blues grit with rich harmonies, exploring the basic constructions of pop music while almost wholeheartedly rejecting its restrictions at the same time.

His first solo record, Shyam Lila, will debut on Mantralogy Records in Spring 2014. Adam began practicing hatha yoga in 1986, and co-founded reggae-rock pioneers The Equalites in 1987.

A kirtan musician for the past twelve years, Adam played bass with Krishna Das from 2001 to 2008, and with Shyamdas from 2005 until his untimely passing in 2013. He has performed at hundreds of gatherings over the years, sharing stages with Ram Dass, Jai Uttal, Deva Premal and Radhanath Swami, among many others. He has played bass at Bhakti Fest and at every Omega Ecstatic Chant since its inception in 2004 (except for that lost week at Burning Man in 2006), and has accompanied esteemed singers like Gaura Vani, Brenda McMorrow, Karnamrita Dasi, David Newman, Daniel Paul and Gina Sala, to name just a few.

Now accompanying himself on harmonium singing his own original kirtan compositions, Adam has led kirtan at world-class venues like Omega Institute, BhaktiFest and the Wanderlust Festival and at more humble gatherings in Canada, India and across the US. Through bhakti yoga, the community practice of kirtan and satsang, Adam continues his own journey of healing and transformation, offering a unique voice and perspective through these simple yet powerful ancient devotional practices.

Will Evans
Will Evans has spent the last decade as the primary song writer, drummer, and front man for the roots rock outfit Barefoot Truth. Will recorded four full length albums and several EP’s of his original music with the band. Their most recent release, “Carry Us On”, debuted at #10 on the iTunes Rock Chart. With Barefoot Truth now on an extended hiatus, Will has opened a new chapter in his musical journey.

His first solo release landed him in Entertainment Weekly as being right on target in the “Bullseye Of The Week” and warranted a #4 spot on the Northeast Billboards. Will’s entry into the Guitar Center sponsored “Search For The Next Great American Songwriter” also brought him national attention. Out of over 10,000 entrants, he was chosen as one of the nation’s top ten finalists.

In October of 2015, while on a national tour as direct support to Trevor Hall, Will released his sophomore album, "Signal Flares", and is currently touring in support of the album. With topics such as the album's opener "Do It For The Love", and "To Be Human", it is clear that the singer-songwriter is once again speaking from his heart, advocating his own socially-conscious messages of love and inclusion.

In his live performances, Will uses his impressive looping skills to combine his drumming background with his highly energized and entertaining acoustic style. When Will is on stage, the crowds always get to their feet and he always gets to their hearts. Will has shared the stage with many top artists including Crosby and Nash, Grace Potter, Bruce Hornsby, Rusted Root, Trevor Hall, Donavon Frankenreiter, Railroad Earth and members of Dispatch.

Turkuaz
Turkuaz is a 9-piece “Powerfunk” army hailing from Brooklyn, NY, whose modern twist on the classic sound has placed them at the forefront of a new funk evolution. With the obvious influences—Parliament, Sly & The Family Stone, Rick James and Zapp and Roger—as the basis for a recipe, Turkuaz adds healthy doses of Talking Heads inspired jittery, world-pop-dance grooves and a passion for The Beatles, Motown and R&B into the mix, resulting in a refreshing update to the funk idiom.

A universally appealing dance band at its core, Turkuaz’s tightly arranged songs are built on thick grooves, driven by a powerhouse rhythm section and interlaced with swirling guitar lines and synthy keyboard riffs. Over the top, lyrical jabs and swells that serve as both subject matter and rhythmic reinforcement are delivered by four distinct vocalists, framed by horn lines and punctuated with left hooks and right angles. Whereas there are certainly talented improvisers in this extremely musical band, Turkuaz engages bodies and minds with its densely layered compositions, setting the stage for the soaring exploratory guitar and horn solos with no room for noodling.
